“Cultivating Prosperity Through Sustainable Agriculture”
Rachel M. Toe Farmers Inc. is a Liberian agribusiness corporation committed to advancing sustainable agriculture and rural development through innovation, capacity building, and community empowerment. Our mission is to strengthen food security, create jobs, and promote inclusive economic growth across Liberia by investing in modern farming systems and value-added agribusiness. This concept paper summarizes seven focus areas and the expected outcomes, partners, and implementation approach.
Quick Navigation
1) Oil Palm Project
The Oil Palm Project focuses on cultivating high-yield varieties and deploying eco-friendly processing technologies to improve extraction rates, reduce post-harvest losses, and raise farmer incomes. We will organize smallholders into production clusters, provide nursery management and GAP training, and deploy modular mills near farm gates to cut transport costs.
2) Cassava Production Project
This project mechanizes cassava production and scales processing into gari, HQCF, and starch for food, feed, and industrial markets. Interventions include improved cuttings, field mechanization, village aggregation points, and quality-controlled processing hubs linked to steady off-take agreements.
3) Rice Development Project
Targeting lowland rehabilitation, improved seed systems, and small-scale irrigation, the Rice Project reduces import dependence and stabilizes local prices. It combines cooperative production, serviceable mechanization (power tillers, reapers), and modern drying and milling for consistent quality.
4) Cocoa Farming Project
We establish sustainable cocoa blocks with agroforestry design, shade management, and integrated pest control. Fermentation and drying centers standardize quality, while traceability supports access to premium buyers and certification pathways.
5) Animal Husbandry Project
Focusing on pigs, goats, poultry, and cattle, this project upgrades genetics, feed systems, housing, and veterinary care. Producer groups receive training in biosecurity and record-keeping, while market linkages support steady off-take for meat and dairy.
6) Vegetable Production Project
High-value vegetables are produced via protected cultivation, drip irrigation, and organic soil management. The model improves year-round supply to urban markets and anchors youth and women participation via cluster entrepreneurship.
7) Fish Farming Project
Community aquaculture ponds, hatcheries, and feed optimization provide an affordable protein source and resilient livelihoods. The project integrates water management, fingerling supply, and market cold-chain for consistent volumes.
